The Audi S3 Sportback uses a 228kW (305 hp) 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine and an AWD system. It’s a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic only and costs about $79,000 driveaway in Australia.

  1. Love the S3 great car and looking like best VAG hot hatch although the Cupra Leon VZx very tempting with its blue leather 😍

    1. List of things that went wrong 😑 mechatronic , DSG, pistons , fuel tank lock, ECU , etc 2014 A3 1.4 TFSI car spent 6 months out of 60 months in Audi workshops still have the warranty invoices as a reminder never again Audi

    2. My Dad has an A3 (2014 8V) and with under 100,000km on the clock, it has needed a new Turbo (1.8 T Petrol engine), new headlight control module box and has a few niggly euro car things like the rear window washer has stopped working.

All up about $7000 in repairs.

It’s a nice car, but wouldn’t own out of warranty.

    3. Have an A3 which is now 6 years old, 80K…zero major issues and only a couple of minor ones. Not all models are created equal.

    4. I had an A3 sedan in warranty and it cost Audi half the cost of the car to repair under warranty

  2. Prime time….Sunday night(nice wine &pizza), Audi review with the legend TOM BACKER!

  3. Not sure you can call anything with lower quality rear door trims than the fronts, like a budget econo car, premium

  4. My wife’s next car. 😉. She got a prev gen A3 with the 1.8T, and she loves it,but when it comes time to update, I’ll try steer her towards the S3.

  5. What is the difference between this model and the one you reviewed back in March. Also can you get a popup towbar as an option?

  6. Thanks for the awesome review you legend Tom Baker! You gave me a good chuckle to the FULL CIRCLE Pun! Lol

  7. Great car, fond of the S3. BTW what happened to Ponch and John? And possible u guys can do a review on the S60? TY
